This will be Tigers coach Dabo Swinney's second time going against Tar Heels coach Bill Belichick. Swinney's first time came in Chapel Hill last season and ended in a 38-10 victory for Clemson.
UNC hasn't beaten Clemson since 2010 and hasn't won at Memorial Stadium since 2001. The Tigers have won their last seven games against the Tar Heels, which include wins in the 2015 and 2022 ACC Championship games.
Freshman Tait Reynolds will start at quarterback for Clemson. No freshman quarterback has started this early in the season for the Tigers since 1975, when Willie Jordan started Game 3 against Georgia Tech. Christopher Vizzina suffered an arm injury against Georgia Southern and is listed as probable on this week's injury report. Swinney said his decision to start Reynolds is strictly performance-based.
