Former US Open finalist and reigning French Open champion Alexander Zverev will face World No. 5 Ben Shelton in the men's singles final of the 2026 US Open at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on September 13.
With both players chasing a major milestone, the showdown promises to be a thrilling contest as the tournament crowns a new champion.
World No. 2 Zverev is aiming to capture the second Grand Slam title of his career and his second major of the season after winning the French Open in June.
The German has enjoyed an outstanding campaign in 2026, reaching his third Grand Slam final of the year after progressing to the championship matches at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. This will also be his second appearance in a US Open final, having previously finished runner-up in 2020.
For Shelton, currently ranked No. 5 in the world, this marks the first Grand Slam singles final of his career. The American came close at the 2023 US Open, where he lost to Novak Djokovic in the semifinals, and also reached the semifinals of the 2025 Australian Open before falling to Jannik Sinner.
