With returning stars on both sides, this rematch between the Buckeyes and Longhorns could wind up being very similar to the 14-7 Ohio State victory last season in Columbus.
With a plethora of talent on last year's team now in the NFL, one of the biggest tests for Ohio State is how these new starters will mesh with the returning starters on both sides of the ball. Just 34.3 percent of defensive production has returned compared to 69.2 percent on the offense side.
The Buckeyes return starting quarterback Julian Sayin, leading rusher Bo Jackson, and Heisman hopeful Jeremiah Smith. Sayin, an elite pocket passer, returns as one of the Heisman favorites in his second season. Last season he completed 77 percent of his passes for 3,610 yards and 32 passing touchdowns and only eight interceptions.
The Longhorns also have their starting quarterback coming back as well. Arch Manning got off to a less-than-stellar start, but come the end of the season, he started to put things together and become the quarterback many expected. He finished with 3,163 yards passing with 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions with a 61.4 completion percentage.
