#10 Texas A&M vs. Arizona State: The matchup

Texas A&M enters Week 2 having slipped two spots from No. 8 to No. 10 in the Associated Press poll through no fault of its own, hammering its opponent Missouri State by a 50-0 shutout. The Aggies dropped below a pair of SEC rivals after LSU jumped to No. 8 after blowing out Clemson and Ole Miss held steady at No. 9 with a ranked win over No. 24 Louisville (41-38) on Sunday. But A&M barely broke a sweat in winning its opener, outgaining Missouri State by a 505-67 margin and racking up 35 first downs to the Bears’ four.

The Sun Devils arrive in College Station as two-touchdown underdogs as they come off a blowout win of their own over Morgan State (70-7) in Week 1. Quarterback Cutter Boley got off to an ideal start in place of Sam Leavitt, who transferred to LSU in the offseason, completing 21 of 27 passes for 387 yards with six touchdown passes. Wide receivers Reed Harris, Grayson Rigdon and Omanrion Miller all topped 100 yards and combined for five touchdown grabs in the win.
